Dell XPS Laptop Packaging

Using 100% recycled or renewable content, this is Dell’s most sustainable packaging to date. The all corrugate shipping box, and wet-pressed molded fiber gift box furnish protection to the system while still allowing a premium unboxing experience.

The objective for this project was to engineer a completely new unboxing experience for Dell’s XPS line of laptop computers, keeping in mind Dell’s 2030 sustainability goal, overall user experience, maximized palletization, and protection capabilities.

Unboxing: No consistency in form factor across the XPS brand; design changes year over year. Usually some sort of rigid box with a tray under the system. Material and overall unboxing experience do allude to a premium experience. Good amounts of plastics in trays, wraps, and adhesives (newer trays are made from ocean-bound plastic); occasional EPE foam in top cushions or overpack cushions.
